Living from the ego or living from the BEING: Those who talk the most about their personal lives are the ones most identified with their ego (their “self”) and need recognition.
The ego of this type of person constantly needs to be recognized, accepted, and praised.
When it is recognized and praised, the ego inflates like a balloon, and hence the danger of pride arising.
It is very important to pay attention to these types of ego events, as they lead to suffering.
When a human being’s ego does not receive recognition, it falls into a state of frustration and low self-esteem.
It makes them feel undervalued by others, and this can lead to depression.
It can also lead to states of anger, resentment, and aggression.
It’s important to observe this point about the ego, asking yourself:
“Do I do this so others will praise and recognize me?
Do I talk about my personal life to attract the attention of others and gain praise?”
When you do things based on what others will say, or when you talk about your personal life only to receive recognition, remember that it is your ego that is controlling you.
You are a prisoner of your own identification with your “I,” and you lack the freedom of Being.
Living from the ego or living from the BEING: Someone who, on the other hand, never talks about their personal life is the type of being who does not live from the ego, since they have transcended it.
They are not identified with their “I,” therefore, the ego cannot manipulate them.
They are a conscious and humble Being, who focuses their attention solely on the present moment, on listening to others and conveying those aspects they consider important for the good of all beings, without any desire for recognition.
This type of person is a free being, unburdened by the ego.
A very easy way to detect this type of person is the following:
In the case of the person who seeks recognition, when they don’t achieve recognition, they automatically get angry and exclude you from their life.
This is living from the ego.
In the case of the person who doesn’t seek recognition, when they don’t achieve it, there are no changes in their mood, since they are totally focused on their essence, and there is no ego.
Since there is no ego, there is no lack, and therefore, there is no desire or need.
They are already a free being.
And they simply flow with what is.
This is living from the Being.
