MENINGES, emotional and spiritual meaning

by | Oct 29, 2025 | Diseases of the HEAD, BRAIN, HEART and CIRCULATORY system

The meninges are the three connective tissue membranes that cover and protect the brain and spinal cord.

The main function of the meninges, as well as the cerebrospinal fluid, is to protect the central nervous system.

These three layers are: pia mater, dura mater, and arachnoid mater.

The brain symbolically represents life itself, “my life” and will be related to the way I lead my life, how I develop, what I do in my life, my aspirations, etc.

Therefore, the objective of the meninges is to protect my brain, “my life”, against any attack.

These membranes can be affected when I have experienced a serious emotional impact of “fear” from an accident, an assault, a robbery, an attempted abuse, etc.

And, as a consequence, I felt that I was dying or that something or someone, they could kill me.

The meninges will only be affected in the repair phase of the emotional impact.

That is, when I have assimilated, accepted and forgiven what has happened to me.

“I thought he would kill me in that accident”, “I thought they were going to kill me”, “I felt, for an instant, that I was coming back alive”

Pia mater: Represents our “mother” (real or symbolic).

When any damage occurs to this membrane it is because I have experienced a situation in which I have felt attacked.

Or unprotected by my mother and, as a consequence, I was afraid to die (real or symbolic).

“My mother does not support me, she does not defend me. I can never count on her”, “I feel attacked by my mother physically and psychologically”,

Arachnoids mater: My mother is overprotective and immobilizes me, I feel like I’m trapped in a protective net.

“I feel that my mother does not let me live, she sucks my essence”, “I want to escape from my mother’s network, but I feel unable to achieve it”

Dura mater: Situation experienced with a very “tough” mother

“I have a very tough mother: she never hugs me, kisses me, or says kind and loving words to me”,

“She wants me to be stronger and teases when she sees me cry”

When the person affected by meningitis is a child under 14 years of age, situations such as those I have highlighted, which may have affected his mother or father, should be investigated.

If they have not experienced anything similar, we will have to review the genealogical tree, in case we had inherited this program from an ancestor.

Why is it so hard for me to say “no”?

Being unable to say “no” is a learned behavior that often functions as an emotional defense mechanism. At a deep psychological level, your mind has come to associate saying “no” with a threat to your relationships or your emotional stability; consequently, it chooses...
