When we feel
neck pain, stiff neck, muscle spasms and inability to move the head with ease; these are symptoms that tell us that we suffer from torticollis.
What is the true meaning of suffering from torticollis, what is it for? It is to prevent me from looking to one side and forcing me to look to another, by placing our eyes in a fixed direction we eliminate the stress of having to choose.
When a torticollis manifest, it indicates that we are living or have lived a few hours ago a conflict of disappointment in action.
It’s almost always about something I want to watch and don’t do, or something I want to do and don’t do, or vice versa.
“I want, but I don’t want to”, “I want but I cannot”, “I want to, but I must not”
For example: “I want to go to my daughter’s house, but I don’t want to meet my son-in-law”
“I want to go to study in London, but I must not leave my mother alone”
I have an idea that leads me in one direction and suddenly, a contradictory thought appears that demands a contrary movement.
That is why the muscle contracts, because it receives a double unconscious order, which can be related to work, family, partner, projects, values, etc.
Any situation of wanting to do something and out of cowardice, insecurity, tradition, obedience, I don’t do it, it can cause torticollis.
Or, on the contrary, that is, when I do not want to do something and for whatever reason, I am forced to do it.
“I don’t want to get married in the church, but I have to, because otherwise my family would be angry”
In the same way, we must be very attentive to the contradictions related to the “must be”:
“I should have stood up for my partner, but I didn’t”
“Want to look and not do it or look and regret doing it”,
“Wanting to turn your head to see something or someone, but have it morally forbidden or that we ourselves forbid it”
For example: walking down the street and seeing your father on the other side of the street with his partner”.
If the muscle contraction prevents us from shaking our heads, it means that we deeply want to say “no” to someone or something; but we do not allow it.
On the contrary, if pain prevents us from affirming with our
heads, it is because we would like to say “yes”; but we don’t allow it.
Torticollis is the consequence of a rejection, disagreement, or non-acceptance of what happens or what others say or do, but we do not dare to express it freely, either because we do not have the courage, the sufficient capacity or because we think we do not have the right to demonstrate.
