GOITER, emotional and spiritual meaning

by | Mar 26, 2025 | Diseases of the SKIN, EYES, KIDNEYS and THYROID

A goiter is an enlargement of the thyroid gland with or without inflammation of the glandular tissue.

It can be diffuse and affect the entire thyroid, although it sometimes affects distinct areas (nodular goiter, with solitary or multiple nodules).

The biological meaning of goiter is to increase thyroid function to accelerate metabolism, which creates a sense of urgency and the need to speed up time.

This allows us to get out of a situation or achieve something more quickly.

“I feel powerless, tied hand and foot,” “Someone should do something, but no one does,” “I always wait until the end to act,” “I feel like life, or something, or someone, is strangling me.”

Each nodule corresponds to a different conflict. “I want to move, but I can’t,” “I need to act quickly in a dangerous situation, but I don’t do anything,” “I should have acted quickly, but I didn’t.”

For example: a girl falls and hits her head, her parents only comfort her, hours later she falls into a coma.

In the active phase of emotional conflict, ulceration begins in the thyroglossal duct.

This occurs because our brain perceives that we have lost control and then sends the order to produce ulceration, which will generate more lumen in the thyroid ducts, thus allowing greater conduction of thyroxine into the bloodstream.

With the increase in thyroxine, the body will be in a better position to “take control.”

If the conflict is definitively resolved, we enter the repair phase, and the ulcerated area regenerates, producing an acute increase in volume due to inflammation from the repair process.

The increase in volume causes fluid congestion in the thyroid ducts, resulting in the formation of a nodule that will likely transform into a cyst and pose no problems.

In the case of multinodular goiter, with hot and cold spots, the mind is in active conflict with certain everyday events.

Therefore, it will be absolutely necessary to observe our environment, our family, work, and social life, and determine what attitudes, reactions, or thoughts are reactivating it.

Euthyroid goiter: Conflict of urgent need for help.

“I’m afraid of being strangled and I lack protection.”

“I would have been more helpful if I had reacted sooner.”

The goiter warns me that I’m living from a “victim” attitude toward what’s happening to me, and I feel like the whole world is against me.

I must free myself, empower myself, stop thinking about what I would have done or said, and live in the present, developing a positive attitude and assuming that I am capable of accomplishing everything I set my mind to in order to achieve my goals and enjoy it.
