INDUCED BIRTH, emotional and spiritual meaning

by | Apr 9, 2026 | Diseases of WOMEN and MEN:

An induced birth is interpreted as an interruption of the natural rhythm of life; the baby does not initiate the action but is forced to do so, thereby rejecting its capacity for initiative.

Birth is our first experience of autonomy; therefore, when it is externally induced, it can generate different emotional conflicts:

First, there may be difficulty getting started: The baby (and later the adult) may feel that they lack the strength or drive necessary to begin something on their own.

In the baby there is an unconscious belief of “I need to be pushed” or “I need external help to complete my goals”.

Frequently, there is fear of time or waiting: This can reflect a conflict in the mother related to urgency or impatience.

The unconscious message the mother has internalized is “it’s not safe to wait” or “time is running out.”

As a result, she becomes easily disoriented and finds it difficult to manage her time.

They may appear submissive to authority: As a medically directed procedure, it can symbolize that their own will is subordinated to that of an authority figure (doctor/parent), which can lead to adults who constantly seek approval before acting.

A person born through induced birth may experience that others are invading their space, their territory:

The baby feels that their space and timing have not been respected.

Likewise, they may develop certain passivity when carrying out their own actions:

The person may become expert at planning but experience blocks at the final execution, waiting for an external stimulus to “trigger” their action.

They often think that others have to do things for them, they feel helpless and expect someone to help them.

Generally, they are apathetic in their relationships and do not choose them; they are usually chosen and avoid commitment.

Often, the need to induce labor stems from memories ingrained within the family clan where infants died during prolonged birth.

Being born “late” was dangerous for both mother and child in previous generations.

There may also be an unconscious fear that the baby will “grow too large” and cause harm if not born soon.
